Occupational Therapy Services A Holistic Approach

I provide treatments designed specifically for you. Each session promotes your body's ability to heal itself by teaching you customized exercises & stretches, reactivating and re-energizing neuro-pathways that have gone dormant, helping you find balance in your muscles and joints to allow you to function at your best. As needed, I instruct on modifying daily habits and incorporating breath techniques. With 20 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, and thousands of patients treated in a wide variety of healthcare settings, I look forward to bringing you this expertise and seeing the results! My background also includes years of athletics including soccer, basketball, crew, cross-country running, cycling, hiking, tennis; My work history as a Certified Post-Partum Doula and as a Certified Yoga Instructor also adds richness to my practice. My past OT work settings include: Outpatient Hand Therapy, Acute Care Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, School Setting, Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals, Home Health Services WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY? Occupational Therapy is a type of therapy (similar to Physical Therapy) but born out of the need to help soldiers get back into daily life after WWI by using "occupation" as the means of therapy. Occupation then ranged from things as simple as crafts to vocational skills. Occupation now is whatever occupies your time. OT's can help school children with attention and hand-writing challenges, adults with hand and arm injuries get back to working or cooking or home-making or raising children, older adults with strokes or Parkinson's Disease improve their functional abilities or learn adaptations and make use of specialized equipment to increase their independence, people with hip or shoulder replacements regain their function, and so much more. My focus areas are listed below: ********* PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY Touch~Free treatment: There is NO Pelvic Exam or hands-on work to your pelvic area. Your therapy is based on symptoms and progress in therapy. Some hands on work to low back may be indicated but can usually be addressed through stretches and exercises. Do you want to be proactive about your health? Don't assume leaking after pregnancy (or with age) or getting up multiple times a night is your new norm. It doesn't have to be! Learning the proper muscle balance now can help prevent symptoms from worsening over time. If you have any of the symptoms below that are causing stress, sleeplessness, worry, limiting your activities, you can take steps and learn how to reduce or eliminate these symptoms and come away with a better sense of your body’s workings. In typically 8-12 weeks of 1-2 times a week therapy, you will learn how to exercise, how to make simple lifestyle choices that will support your body now and in the future. Don’t let the stress get you down: • Waking up at night to pee? • Planning stops at all the bathrooms when you go out? • Not sure if you can make it to the bathroom when you put the key in the door, see the bathroom, or hear water running? • Have to use the bathroom every hour or so? • Leaking, accidents? If you have had therapy in the past, surgery, no surgery, children, no children - PELVIC FLOOR THERAPY can help. Call today to find out if therapy is the right choice for you ~ 865-352-4077 FROM PAST PATIENTS ~ I could not have had a more caring, personal, and professional OT. The care you had for me was beyond any other. You made me feel very relaxed and took time when I didn't think I was doing the exercises right. Thanks to your help, I am doing so well. 5 star OT ~ Mary Z. Working with Camille has been a real pleasure! She was knowledgeable and caring and very professional while addressing my intimate issues. Working through pelvic floor insufficiency could be a major embarrassment but Camille made me feel very comfortable while discussing my body and how the exercises were progressing. ~ Elizabeth G. ********* Shoulder-Arm-Hand Therapy Are you having arm pain, tendonitis, rotator cuff injury, shoulder surgery? Having studied and worked in Hand Therapy Clinics over the course of my career and having treated multiple shoulder injuries and surgeries, I would love to help you be pain free with full range of motion and strength so you can be at your fullest potential. ********* Neuro-Therapy Focuses on awakening and reviving neuro connections in your system for improved function as well as adaptations to your daily routine when needed. Neurological diagnoses such as Parkinson's, stroke, nerve injury, and more are appropriate for treatment. ********* Wellness Coaching For health issues that are not considered medical issues requiring therapy but are chronic or nagging drags on your system or lifestyle. Learn customized exercise and stretching programs to keep the pain down. Find balanced activity and exercise levels that work for your body and time. Or if you have finished your course of therapy but find you have questions that come up later or want to revisit exercise programs that have gotten rusty, a Wellness Coaching session can provide you the tools you need to keep your routine up to date.
